Riparian Field Technician
Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District is seeking a Riparian
Field Technician to support the staff team in the Rondout and Neversink
Basin towns of Denning and Neversink. The Technician performs tasks for all
phases of Stream Management Program project work and installs riparian
restoration projects; maintains native plant stock; monitors and removes
invasive species; fabricates and procures bioengineering supplies; operates
and maintains mechanical equipment; assists with field work to assess
stream conditions and supports education and outreach with landowners,
middle/high school students and the public. ArcGIS , Excel, topographical
survey and good interpersonal skills a must. Pluses: native plant ID, NYS
Pesticide certification, and field experience in remote terrain.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Associate's Degrees in natural resource
management, forestry, landscape design, natural and environmental science
accepted in conjunction with related work experience. Salary approx.
$35-37,000 commensurate with experience. Full job description available at

Catskill Streams Buffer Initiative Coordinator
Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District is seeking a Catskill
Streams Buffer Coordinator to develop and implement a streamside assistance
program to protect, enhance and restore streamside buffers in the Rondout
and Neversink Basin towns of Denning and Neversink. The Coordinator
performs field work to assess stream conditions; prepares written reports
that describe existing site conditions and offer conceptual designs for
riparian buffer improvement projects; acquires materials to stage and
install riparian restoration projects; and conducts education and outreach
with landowners, students and the public. ArcGIS , topographical survey and
good writing skills a must. Pluses: knowledge of stream feature assessment,
native plant ID, and field experience in remote terrain. Qualifications:
Master's, Bachelor's or Associate's Degrees in natural resource management,
forestry, landscape design, natural and environmental science accepted in
conjunction with related work experience. Salary approx. $45-50,000
