The saying, "its the dose that makes the poison" applies here.

Folks, don't get me wrong: I am not an advocate of Chlorox, but what if it were used to paint on cut stems? Chlorox is chlorine based and in concentrated form is certainly very damaging if it gets on skin, etc., but I am trying to get some points I can use either pro or con responding to people who are suggesting that Chlorox could be used in place of herbicides such as Roundup.

I'm sure it would, but I don't think it is a good solution. Chlorine bleach is a pesticide, just not a registered one (as far as I know). It is doubtlessly much more harmful to the environment than Roundup.

Hello, there is a group locally that wants to ban pesticides in parks except in emergencies. It has been suggested that Chlorox will do the work of Roundup in painting cut shrub etc. stems, maybe in other situations as well, not sure. Anyone have any comments on this?

Thanks in advance.
