Friday, April 24: Melanie Choukas-Bradley Nature Walk  Rock Creek Conservancy brings you more ways to Celebrate Rock Creek Park’s 125thAnniversary 
with this special Spring Nature Walk starting at Boundary Bridgenear off Beach Drive  JoinMelanie Choukas-Bradley, naturalist and author of A Year in Rock CreekPark—the Wild, Wooded Heart of Washington, DC for an Earth Day/ArborDay spring nature walk under the trees in the Boundary Bridge area of RockCreek Park.   Melanie bringsher intelligence and passion to guided walks in the park sharing her wisdomabout trees and wildflowers growing along Rock Creek. Witness the fresh greenfoliage of the newly leafed canopy, search for spring wildflowers and listenfor the return of the musical wood thrush, D.C.’s official bird.   Location: Boundary Bridge parking lot, Beach Drive. Take East-West Highway (Route410) east from Connecticut Avenue (a right-hand turn if driving north onConnecticut from DC and a left-hand turn if driving south from the Beltway).Take East-West Highway to Beach Drive and turn right (south) and drive to thelocked gate across Beach Drive at the District line. Park in the parking lotjust before the gate or along the road if the parking lot is full.Bring:Water and snacks and/or a light lunch. Wear sunscreen and (optional) bug spray.Bring binoculars if you wish. Note: there are no restrooms at the meetinglocation or along the route. Trail:We will cover up to 2 ½ miles at a slow hiking pace with some elevation changeon hiking trails.Triplimited to 20 participants.
