Webinar Details:
The August basic training webinar is a general course that will provide information on observation data entry, viewing data on the map, setting up email alerts, and performing custom observation queries. Attendees will be shown an overview of the PA iMapInvasives homepage<http://www.naturalheritage.state.pa.us/paimap.aspx> and information will be given about early detection and high priority species to be on the lookout for in PA. This webinar is recommended for anyone with little to no knowledge of iMapInvasives and those wishing to receive a general overview. Natural resource professionals and the general public alike are encouraged to register for this webinar.
The September advanced training webinar will provide a focus on how to enter advanced record types including assessment, survey, treatment, and infestation management records (and will briefly discuss observation data entry). Attendees will also be shown how to perform queries for observation records and advanced record types. Guidance will be provided on setting up email alerts, viewing data on the map and table, and downloading data. Attendees will be shown an overview of the PA iMapInvasives homepage<http://www.naturalheritage.state.pa.us/paimap.aspx> and information will be given about early detection and high priority species to be on the lookout for in PA. This webinar is recommended for natural resource professionals and those individuals that already possess a basic understanding of iMapInvasives.
The October webinar entitled "Examples of Using iMapInvasives" is designed to provide users with a better understanding of the many ways in which iMapInvasives can be put to use. Examples include:
* A 4-H or scout group surveys a local park for common invasive species and captures their findings in iMapInvasives as observation data.
* A graduate student analyses distribution data in iMapInvasives and uses this information to write a scientific paper or conduct a research project.
* A park manager learns what specific invasive species are affecting the properties he/she manages by creating a customized data query.
* A CWMA group managing a population of Japanese knotweed captures assessment, survey, and treatment data over the course of many years. In order to view their efforts as a whole and to track their progress made towards control/eradication, the group creates and maintains an Infestation Management record.
* A non-profit group performing invasive management efforts and operating on grant funding gleans information needed for grant reports by utilizing project names and customized data queries.
This webinar is recommended for anyone with little to no knowledge of iMapInvasives and those wishing to advance their understanding of the various uses of the database. Natural resource professionals and the general public alike are encouraged to register for this webinar.
