Dear forest pest mavens,

I am pleased to announce that USDA APHIS has finalized a four-year-old
proposal to prohibit imports of 56 plant taxa because they pose a risk of
either being invasive themselves or transporting damaging tree pests.

I have posted a blog summarizing the NAPPRA listing & outlining how the
NAPPRA program came to be at _www.cisp.us_ (http://www.cisp.us) or
_www.nivemnic.us_ (http://www.nivemnic.us)

I am currently working on another blog looking at the pest risk associated
with plant imports. Look for it soon!

Faith
