[MAIPC] Successes

Unfortunately, people who find dead patches of Japanese stilt grass dead
because of rust, are not finding it at the same place next year. Now is the
time of year to go to sites, with experts, where Japanese stiltgrass is
observed being removed by Bipolaris microstegii rust to determine the other
host or hosts besides stiltgrass for the rust? How about not just sending
the plaque specimen for ID but physically traveling to the exact site to see
what other critter is hosting the rust besides Microstegium such as soy.
This would be a potential component of the biocontrol.

Hi Marc,

Just getting in touch because of your reference to sites with Bipolaris leaf
spot. Is there a list of locations? I'd be interested in looking at them.
Also, I have a visitor from Florida (tomorrow, Aug. 7th) who is interested
in this disease, and it might be profitable for him to see what you've been
reporting. Thanks.

Cheers!

Bill
