 Or where the traps are set up such as with the Japanese beetle. One of my concerns if I were a farmer is having traps set up on my land which would draw in the spotted lanternfly. Putting the traps in food producing areas may draw this pest in and increase crop damage rather than reducing it.

You may be right Trilby. Research is critical. For example, what if spotted lantern fly is much worse where there is Ailanthus?
