Hi,

I thought you might be interested in Faith Campbell's blog about the Farm
Bill. Faith blogs regularly (weekly to biweekly) and provides excellent
updates on a variety of invasive species issues, mostly in the policy area.
If you're interested in receiving the blogs directly, you can ask to be
added to the CISP or NECIS list-serve.

Thank you,

Jil

Dear Forest Pest mavens,

I have posted a blog at www.cisp.us and www.nivemnic.us that reports on
inclusion in the House version of the 2018 Farm Bill of some (weakened)
versions of amendments that Center for Invasive Species Prevention and
allies have proposed. That is exciting!

However, the House bill also contains language that would eviscerate laws
that form the foundation of U.S. environmental programs - the Endangered
Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and Federal Insecticide,
Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act.
Surely, Congress can adopt a bill that promotes conservation goals in rural
America and strengthens pest-prevention programs without damaging
environmental programs as a whole!

Faith
