[MAIPC] New invasive/waifs

I believe I asked about Italian arum back in the 1990s. Early detection means taking seriously the first queries!

A few years ago a NPS contact said it had blanketed a 1 acre wetland area in Rock Creek Park, DC. It should be taken seriously. Also, it is hard to kill and I have yet to see anyone report a really effective treatment. And finally, its phenology is tricky. It leafs out in the cold season and senesces after it warms up, then sends up a naked flowering spike in summer that bears bright red "berries". IMO it should be banned. Cheers, Steve Young
