[MAIPC] question on seed banks and germination of Japanese Stiltgrass

The seed bank is 5 years but by the 4th year you are happy if you remove it all each year. Marc

Subject: [MAIPC] question on seed banks and germination of Japanese Stiltgrass

 

An issue came up on a FB group which I had not considered in regards to seed banks in general and Japanese Stiltgrass in particular. I know that I cultivate my organic garden several times before planting to encourage weed germination. With Japanese Stiltgrass will early and multiple mowings deplete the seed bank by causing seed germination or will the seed bank be mostly unaffected? A second question is how long is the seed bank for Japanese Stiltgrass?
