Has anyone gotten into 3/23 seminar? It says 7:15pm start, but is waiting for host (maybe different time zone)?

Thank you very much for this, Nathan. I want you all to know that we have a lot going on right here. Chesapeake Wild Ones helps and encourages gardeners who want to go native and has a sub group that is looking into encouraging MDOT and other transportation units to plant native plants on roadsides. There is also a group called Rewild Montgomery that aims to increase awareness of the essential value of native plants and provide education and resources to help people envision and implement native species plantings. Chesapeake Natives is hosting a streaming of Hometown Habitat this weekend. There may be a few places left, so contact me if you are interested. It’s free.

Recognizing and knowing invasive plants is all part of the plan.

I recently discovered this native garden non-profit Rewild Long Island. They help out with native gardening across the island. While it's outside the area of our main member base, these two online workshops looks great.

Are you looking for new ideas to try out in your garden this Spring?

ReWild Long Island presents two online sessions this Spring to get you ready. And we have a native plant sale launching very soon!

Create a Pollinator Friendly Garden

Are you new to native plants and need help getting started? The wide variety of plants available and the overwhelming information available can make your initial forays a little intimidating. Kimberly Simmen, an experienced horticulturist, presents an introductory guide to starting a pollinator garden.

No prior experience is required as Kimberly walks through the process, the plants, the planting and maintenance.

Kimberly is also an entrepreneur with a long history of growing natives who has opened KMS Native Plants, LLC, in Lake Grove to provide Long Islanders with year-round access to native plants.

When: April 6, 2021 @ 7:30 PM

Speaker: Anthony Marinello of Dropseed Native Landscapes

Planting a Pocket Prairie for Any Size Yard

You don’t need a lot of space to create a big buzz with pollinators and other wildlife. Whether you have a small yard, or just want to convert a portion of a larger space, a Postage Stamp Prairie is the answer. Also known as Pocket Prairies, these small plantings have the ability to recreate the Maritime Grassland plant communities that once dominated large portions of Long Island, providing you with an attractive, biodiverse garden filled with color and life.

Anthony Marinello, a permaculture & rewilding expert, presents this session for new and experienced rewilders alike. Anthony founded Dropseed Native Landscapes to give Long Islanders the ability to transform their piece of the Island into a native plant oasis to sustain both humans and wildlife alike.
