Common names are geographically and regionally distinct in recognition. They are not racist slurs.They are a distinction made by a botanist discoverying a new introduction that was known to be a native plant from another continent or region. If the common name offends,  use the common name from another country in its native alphabet spelling, and always use the scientific name.
