Patricia, Both Mazus species are known for WV: M. miquelii (4 of 55 counties) since 1938 (garden) & M. pumilus (2 cos.) in 1980+.
All 8 collections in the WVU herbarium are from garden, lawn, or sidewalk paver localities (planted &/or naturalized/spreading).

Hi,

I’m not familiar with Mazus miquelii or Mazus pumilus – a perennial, creeping groundcover native to Japan and China. It is considered an invasive in the northeast according to Wikipedia. I’m finding much information about it being invasive on the web and wanted to ask the MAIPC what experience you’ve had with this plant? EddMaps only has Mazus pumilus listed in the New York and New Jersey area. iNaturalist had a few points and one listed here in Reston, VA.

USDA has it listed in more states.

USDA Plants Database<https://plants.usda.gov/home/plantProfile?symbol=MAMI4>

Would you consider it an EDRR species?

See photos below.

 Thank you,

Hi ladies
Is this invasive?
We have patches in our yard. Remove by pulling?
