I would just emphasize the importance of treating an *extremely* fresh cut.
And I have a feeling for whatever it's worth that a water-based rather than
oil-based treatment will be better for cut stump.
One other thing, just a reminder that there was the incident a few years
ago where someone suffered cardiac symptoms after cutting Ailanthus. See
for example:

So it may be wise to take extra precautions to avoid exposure! Best and
