Jil and Marc,

 

            There doesn't seem to be a way to contact the Maryland Invasive Species Council (MISC) as a group. I can't tell if you are even active anymore as a group. I was disturbed by the listing of Orchard Grass on your list and I am trying to find out why. In analyzing the list, I found something even more disturbing. Here is a list of species (below) that I copied from your Terrestrial Plants list which seem to mirror Chapter 15.08.02. Maryland Turf Grass Law, Sec. 15.08.02.04. Weeds. This law has absolutely nothing to do with "Noxious Weeds" in the sense of being Invasive. Its sole intention is to regulate what is sold as sod for lawns. This is a law similar to the FDA laws that prohibit adulterants in food and has nothing to do with the Invasiveness of the plants listed. Am I reading this inclusion in your list as being based on this law? If I am, these need to be reevaluated and most likely removed.
