plants and performing horticultural and gardening duties at County-owned parks, streetscapes, gardens, facility grounds, and other public areas. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Specific duties include:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">- Controlling invasive plants in high value natural areas through spraying/treating with appropriate herbicides and mechanical control methods;<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">- Recording treatment information in a GIS mapping system;<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">- Assisting in performing and reviewing inventories and field data collection;<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">- Participating in training and coordinating volunteers in non-native invasive species identification and removal techniques, as well as seed collection and plant
propagation in the native plant nursery; and<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">- Maintaining equipment, including backpack sprayers and chainsaws. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">The employee is also responsible for planting and maintaining shrubs and flowers, installing and maintaining landscape beds, and planting trees; providing guidance
to other staff/team members working on landscape maintenance and installation, tree planting, and insect/disease control. Will also assist in planning for new landscape areas and new installations, and performing diagnostic horticultural work to control weeds
and pests, and to implement appropriate fertilization schedules. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

of herbicides/pesticides, exposure to drafts, noise, dust, grease, dirt, and traffic, with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, and lifting light to very heavy objects and equipment. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
