If you have larger monocultures, you can spray the foam onto the phragmites. The foam sticks to the stems and then slowly slides down increasing the area treated. If you have a small infestation (as you mentioned), you can treat individual stems by wiping the foam onto the stems. This method is extremely precise.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:navy'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:navy'>In both cases, you use a high herbicide concentration while covering only about 10% to 30% of leaf surface. I have read about the "glove of death" or similar methods, but carrying it seems rather difficult. But if people have good experiences, I'd like to hear. I'm also curious about if anyone has found good nozzles for sprayers. I only ever have options to spray as a single stream, a cone, or a single line, all of which allow for a lot of herbicide to fall down and kill natives.
