    I just use a weed flamer.  This weather has been prefect for that.
    Much better than mowing or spot spraying since it destroys any seed
    pods as well.<br>
    <br>
    I would never add salt to my soil.  Road salt from winter is bad
    enough.  There are data that show a number of streams in western MD
    become highly salinic (?) once the water levels drop in summer
    causing the road salt to increase in concentration.<br>

            problems (salting the earth and all of that). You have
            developed a chemical solution that kills organisms; just
            because you bought those chemicals at the grocery store
