I even saw some with ants tending them. These do not appear to be part of the plant, but very firmly attached (barnacles come to mind). Closer examination of the original photo pushes the boundaries of what can be seen, but maybe there are some legs there. I didn’t know aphids mummified. I couldn’t see any exit holes on many of these, but they were crushable and appeared unoccupied.<o:p class=""></o:p></p>
