<div dir="auto"><div>Good for you! Keeping invasives at bay is never easy.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I've been volunteering at Cunningham Falls State Park in Frederick County, MD, and at Frederick County parks. After a few-months pause, volunteers went back to CF Park, focusing on removing invasives, most often along the Falls trail in the park. We have focused mainly on wineberry, barberry and garlic mustard, which are all reduced in the areas on which we focused, but not eliminated. Stiltgrass was abundant there last week, sadly.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">County parks have just recently allowed volunteers back for organized events. Today was the first park-organized event at Fountain Rock Park. Nevertheless, !70 acres of the 200 acre park have been completed in 2021. All of the garlic mustard, multiflora rose, privets, Leather leaf Mahonia, Japanese barberry, English Ivy, and oriental bittersweet have been removed. <u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><u></u> <u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We also removed ¾th of the wineberry, Mock strawberry, Japanese honeysuckle, and ground ivy. Next we will remove the beefsteak plant. Unfortunately, way too much Japanese stilt grass has moved in from everywhere.
