[MAIPC] Kudzu

I find that almost all invasives can be killed by repeated use of a string trimmer-eventually the plants die and amazingly there are usually thousands of dormant native wildflower, shrub and tree seeds just waiting to come up.  At least that's what happened at Wyman Park Dell in Baltimore.  Almost all invasives are dead with heavy infestations on 6 acres of woodlands and tons of native plants came up.  We just have minor maintenance each year from here on out.  If anyone wants a tour, just holler.
We are a totally herbicidee-free park and have signs saying so.  Glyphosate has been banned in a number of countries-not sure, but I think France, the Netheerlands, Brazil, Ontario...not judging on it's use, but there ya go.
Great list serv-

PS - just Google "how to kill kudzu" - one way apparently is to keep removing the vegetative parts and eventually the core dies too...but you can probably spend a whole day just reading the hits that come up.     On 08/14/15,linsil at verizon.net wrote:    but don't forget that Roundup has now been shown to be carcinogenic.

Here is information on Roundup. http://www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/emon/pubs/fatememo/glyphos.pdf

I think judicious use of Roundup would have minimal impact. I use it to control poison ivy, and some other hard to control vines. I still pull my English Ivy by hand.
