Dear MAIPC members,
The MAIPC board of directors will have its winter board meeting by conference call on February 12 at 10:00AM. There are several large expenditures which will be voted on, so the board encourages interested members to join the call.
The board typically operates under a loose parliamentary procedure, and make many decisions by consensus. For this meeting we'll likely hold formal votes for agenda items 2-7. We don't have a formal protocol for members to comment, but we will briefly open the floor for comment on each item.
Proposed agenda:
1. Introduction/Welcome (Board President)
2. Agenda changes/updates (new items will not be voted on in this meeting)
3. Approve minutes from November meeting
4. Officer's reports: Secretary, Treasurer, Technology
5. Proposal from Maryland Invasive Species Council (MISC) to fund the Maryland Invaders Tool, a website tool for information on MISC's listed invasive species. (est. expenditure: $1,000)
6. Proposal to fund a Weed Risk Assessment workshop in Maryland. (est. expenditure: $1,500)
7. Proposal to sponsor the MD Native Plant Society's 2018 conference which will focus on invasive species.
8. General discussion on increasing MAIPC's support and sponsorship of local and regional conferences, to encourage and support board members and/or MAIPC members to attend and represent MAIPC.
9. General discussion and ideas for a 2018 workshop.
10. Update from biocontrol working group.
11. Listserve use ideas
12. Adjorn
Please email me directly at Damien.ossi at dc.gov<mailto:Damien.ossi at dc.gov> if you are interested in joining the call, and I will send you the conference call information.
Thank you,
Damien Ossi
