[MAIPC] Berberis julianae or wintergreen barberry

My limited experience: it is invasive, but it hasn’t been widely planted for a long time yet, so we’re just starting to see it come up in the wild. Introduced 1900; people are going for it more now in the never-ending search for easy, evergreen plantings. First time I saw it (about 8 years ago), it wasn’t on any of my lists of invasives, & I identified it using Dirr’s Manual of Woody Landscape Plants.

Unfortunately, it a few weeks ago I spotted it being sold by a local nursery here in Charlottesville. It would be a great conversation to have with that nursery, but I want to be armed with information first.
