Hello Allison,
Cynthia Huebner from The US Forest Service has advised me a couple of years
ago that no live invasive debris should be left in the woods because it
will decompose and change the chemistry of the soil. Dead debris does not
matter.
The best thing is to remove all the invasive debris but in our case that is
not possible except for honeysuckle vine, garlic mustard and other small
things.

That is why we in Murrysville PA make high piles of honsysuckle bushes and
other invasive shrubs elevated from the ground on top of dead trunks.
